The goal of each person on our leadership team is to guide our church according to God's direction and following the guidelines of the Scripture.

Pastor Bob was born and raised in Shelby, NC. He had several careers prior to accepting his call to the ministry. He is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY and is starting his 10th year as an ordained minister.

Our church is fortunate to have Rev. Bob. He came to Madison FUMC in the Spring of 2006. Bob's wife, Traci is a Dental Hygenist to a local dentistry here in Madison.

Brian Sanderson - Youth Pastor

Brian is currently persuing his MDIV at Asbury Theological Seminary, and drives there once a week for classes.  He does a wonderful job with our youth and they all love him. 

Brian and his wife, Faith,  reside in Madison where he has served our First United Methodist Church since 2002. He and Faith were both born in Valdosta, GA, so they are true Southern homebreds. They both spent most of their youth in  Madison, FL. Faith has been a Pharmacy Assistant and is currently the Appraiser at Searcy Real Estate.

Lynn has brought our Choir to a new level of excellence.  She also directs "the
Mickler Handbell Choir"  and our "Alpha Singers".

Lynn is a Professor of Music at Valdosta State University and is also the Director of the Valdosta Choral Guild - a position she has held since 1998.

Before coming to work in Valdosta, GA, Lynn was the music consultant for the State of Ohio Department of Education and on the faculty of Ohio State University (Marion) for 12 years.

She has sung professionally with Cantari Singers of Columbus and with the Robert Shaw Festival Singers in France and Carnegie Hall. Her public scool teaching experience includes junior high, choral, and instrumental and senior high choral. She holds degrees from Otterbein College and  Ohio State University.

Mary Helen Studebaker - Church Administrator

Mary Helen is our Church Administrator. She does a great job of running the church with style and grace and a smile on her face. 

Mary Helen was born and raised in Madison, FL and now resides in Pinetta, FL with her husband, Terry.  Terry is retired from the Army and later the Sheriff's Department.  They have two married children and their their first  grand child, Isabel Anne,  just arrived (January 2010).

Mary Helen came back to the Madison area after her husband retired from the military. She is thrilled to be working for the church that she grew up in and married in. She loves the people here and says " I have finally found a place where my spiritual gifts can be used and grow."

Jim Catron - Lay Leader

Jim is our  Lay Leader.  The Lay Leader functions as the primary lay representative of the laity for the church and is a member of the church council, committee on finance, committee on nominations and leadership development, as well as the committee on pastor-parish relations.   

Jim also serves as a member of the Madison County United Methodist Churches Cluster, and is a lay member of the Florida Annual Conference.   In addition, he serves on the North West Florida District Leadership Council of the United Methodist Church.

Jim was born in Panama, US Canal Zone. He and his wife, Sylvia have TWO children. He is retired from North Florida Community College here in Madison, FL.  Prior to that he was  a  Professor of Social Sciences at North Florida Junior College.  

He has degrees from Emory & Henry College (affiliated with the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church) and Appalachian State Teachers College.   Jim regularly teaches Sunday School, has facilitated Disciple Bible Studies, and is a Certified Lay Speaker.

 Lynnette has agreed to be our Pianist/Organist for the 2011 season - Welcome back.

 Lynnette does a wonderful job at both instruments.  

Ali left us in June of 2010 to go with her family to Texas.  Our former pianist/organist Lynnette Harper has stepped back in as  our talented pianist for the season. 

Krystal is the co-ordinator of our Audio Video Center.  She also sings in the choir and is a member of the "Alpha Singers". She is a North Florida Community College graduate.  Krystal and her husband, Chad have four young children, so she is a very busy lady.
